Appointments
In an effort to meet government targets, appointments with doctors can usually be booked on the day that they are required although a limited number of appointments may now be booked one week in advance.
You will be able to choose which doctor you see, providing that doctor has available appointments. To book an appointment, you should telephone at the following times:
Morning Appointments:
Monday to Friday 8.10am
Evening Appointments:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 1.30pm Thursday 3.30pm
Appointments may also be made by calling at the surgery during surgery hours. The surgery closes for lunch at 12.30pm and re-opens at 1.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. On Thursdays the surgery is closed from 12.30 to 3.30pm for staff training.
In addition, on Thursdays we will also open for pre-booked appointments from 07.00 - 08.00am and 18.30 - 19.30.
Please remember, if you cannot keep an appointment it is important that you inform us as soon as possible so that we can re-allocate your appointment. Each month we have many unused appointments due to patients failing to cancel appointments they cannot keep.
All patients have the right to express a preference to see a particular doctor or nurse and, as far as possible, we will endeavour to accommodate your request. All doctors and nurses have a limited number of appointments available and if the all the appointments for a particular doctor/nurse have been allocated, it will not be possible for you to see that person. Likewise, if you need to see a doctor urgently, the only available doctor will be the duty doctor for that day. If you wish to see a particular doctor, you should advise the receptionist when you make your appointment.
WE ARE NOT OPEN ON SATURDAYS, SUNDAYS OR BANK HOLIDAYS.
If your appointment is urgent, please make sure that you inform the receptionist of this when you book your appointment. An urgent appointment is for a medical condition that could not wait to be attended to on another day. You will, therefore, be given an appointment for that day but may not have much choice in the time that you are allocated. However, you will always be seen on that same day.
